Two high-profile charity race events in Worcestershire have been booked to take place on the same day.
The Worcester Cancer Research UK 5k Race for Life and the Acorns Triple Run, due to take place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, a spa town and civil parish in Worcestershire, have both been organised for 24 June.
Last year the Race for Life and the Acorns Triple Run raised £194,468 and £35,000 respectively, with 3,827 and 1,186 people taking part in the events.
Kerrie Davies, events manager at Acorns, told Worcester News: “The summer is always busy with events and will be even more so this year with the Olympics and Golden Jubilee.
“It’s unfortunate but unavoidable that Triple Run is on the same day as another charity event in Worcester.
“We are working harder than ever to promote the event and are hoping that we will receive the same great support that we have experienced over the last six years and raise the funds so vitally needed to provide care and support to local life limited and life threatened children.”
To help avoid the possibility of clashes, fundraisers can now add their events to the civilsociety.co.uk events calendar.
