Martyn Croft, chief information officer at the Salvation Army UK has been named in Silicon.com’s annual CIO50 list.
The list is voted for by heads of IT who are asked to assess their peers on leadership ability, delivery and execution record, innovation and influence.
Previously Croft worked in IT for the public and private sector before joining the Salvation Army in 1995. He became CIO two years ago and is responsible for the charity's information systems.
He also co-founded the Charities Security Forum for professionals in the charity sector.
Croft was the only charity CIO on this year’s list with Jos Creese, the CIO at Hampshire County Council, taking the top spot.
Silicon.com’s editor Steve Ranger said: “The CIOs on this year's silicon.com CIO50 list are all great examples of business leaders who understand the power of technology to underpin the success of their organisation.”
