Dr Carole Easton, former chief executive of ChildLine, has been appointed by disfigurement charity Changing Faces as its deputy CEO starting 13 September.

Easton, who is a former child and family psychotherapist, has been chief executive of counselling service ChildLine, leading children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent and Cruse Bereavement Care and has worked in the sector for 18 years.

She will now work closely with Changing Faces' chief executive James Partridge to help grow the organisation's presence in the UK and beyond. She will also manage four teams within the charity and lead fundraising efforts in the UK.

"It will be a privilege to be working with James Partridge, who set up the charity 18 years ago, and the team at Changing Faces," said Easton. "We aim to enable everyone to face disfigurement with confidence and to ensure that no-one with a disfigurement is subject to discrimination."

Around one in every 111 people in the UK has a significant  disfigurement to their face. Changing Faces, formed in 1992 by Partridge, provides support and representation for people with disfigurements to the hand, face or body.
