CFDG has appointed Caron Bradshaw as its new chief executive, a trained lawyer who was most recently head of charities and the voluntary sector at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Bradshaw (pictured) studied law at the University of Westminster before being called to the bar at Lincoln’s Inn.

She is also a trustee of the Full House Theatre Company in Bedford.

Bradshaw said: “I am looking forward to building upon CFDG’s new strategy and influencing the emerging agenda across political parties.

“The outlook for the sector over the coming months is likely to be extremely challenging, whoever forms the new government, but coming from a membership organisation, I’m eager to work with and support our members to capitalise on the rich opportunities for charities and their finance directors arising from the current environment.”

CFDG chair Charles Nall added: “We believe that her appointment heralds an exciting and energetic new period for CFDG, and we look forward to working with her very much as CFDG increases its influence on policies affecting the sector.

Bradshaw replaces Keith Hickey, who left after three and a half years at the helm to become group director of resources at the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

Her Twitter name is @caronlb.
