CCITDG to become Charity IT Leaders this month

Charity IT Leaders is launching its new logo and name in March, following the announcement late last year that it was changing its title from CCITDG.

The charity will also consider switching to Charitable Incorporated Organisation status, it was announced today.

The organisation formerly known as the Charity Consortium IT Directors Group (CCITDG) will be officially known as Charity IT Leaders from 14 March. The Group represents IT leaders in the sector and has been in existence since June 2000, with an 85-strong membership largely made up of charities with annual turnovers in excess of £25m.

Such members include Save the Children, Blind Veterans, British Heart Foundation, Zoological Society of London, the Salvation Army and Independent Age.

The change of name was voted through at the AGM and Annual Conference October 2012, and according to chair Laura Dawson -  who was announced as new chair at the same meeting - it was seen to “both better reflect the nature of the Group and be easier to communicate”. The new logo is pictured above.

Dawson continued: “At the same time, we’re exploring the possibility to re-constitute the organisation as a charity incorporated organisation [CIO] which will allow us to improve the way we support our members and proceed with our five-year strategy.

“As the premier membership group for IT directors of major UK charities we are keen to expand our membership beyond our current 85 organisations, and provide to our peers in the sector the opportunity of networking, advice and sharing and that our current members so value.”

An event to mark the occasion is taking place in London following the group’s quarterly meeting on 14 March.
