Peter Heather has been elected the new chairman of the Charities Consortium of IT Directors Group (CCITDG), announced at the organisation’s annual conference earlier this month.
Heather joined the charity sector in 2000 and is head of IT and systems at Wateraid. Earlier this year, he revealed plans to form a collaborative software development group for charities.
“I am looking forward to working with a great team of people," he said of his appointment to CCITG.
Previous chair, Sarah Winmill announced that she would not be standing for re-election after deciding to leave the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the charity sector, for a role at University College London.
Heather added that following the conference he was looking forward to, “moving on a sharing agenda.”
The other members of CCITDG committee who were re-elected at the conference are:
- Andrew Brenson, head of IT, Save the Children UK – treasurer
- Phil Durbin, head of corporate systems, Salvation Army UK – secretary
- Laura Dawson, head of information systems, RSPB – meeting organiser
- Jane Deal – head of information and communication systems, RNIB – communications officer
- Stuart McSkimming, head of information technology, Shelter - corporate liaison officer
Peter Heather will be speaking at the Charity IT Conference 2011 on 21 November. To book your place visit civilsociety.co.uk/IT2011
