Charities Aid Foundation staff are gearing up for a day of Comic Relief fundraising, which will end with 50 of its staff manning the donation phone lines.
CAF, an umbrella charity offering financial services and donation support to the charity sector, has 350 staff at its head office in Kent, 50 of which will take to the phones from 6.30pm to midnight tonight. Office staff will also be participating in a fundraising 'worst dressed' competition and a bake sale.
Glen Brooks, customer contact manager who is organising the activities said it's "important to practice what we preach". "I’m thrilled that CAF is once again able to support one of the biggest fundraising events of the year," he said. "It’s great that so many staff are willing to help out and I’m really looking forward to what’s looking to be a really exciting evening."
CAF took part in Sport Relief last year raising £2,400 through a range of sporty fundraising activities such as 'Strictly CAF Dancing' and the 'CAF Olympics'. Last year was the first year that CAF staff had manned a Comic Relief call centre, with 70 staff volunteering to take incoming Sport Relief calls.
