British Heart Foundation, owner of the UK’s second largest charity shop chain, has chosen to install Toshiba Tec’s ST-A10 TouchPOS system in its 600 stores.

British Heart Foundation, owner of the UK’s second largest charity shop chain, has chosen to install Toshiba Tec’s ST-A10 TouchPOS system in its 600 stores.

The ST-A10 TouchPOS (pictured) has a durable, high clarity touch screen, is sealed to protect against spillages and dust, has a small footprint and has ‘click-release’ maintenance.

“Reliability was the key issue for us, with only one unit per shop if the system goes down the shop can’t operate,” said Steve Biddle, head of finance at the British Heart Foundation.

“We have worked with Toshiba Tec for some years and their low power consumption technology and their customer focused approach to installation can’t be beaten.”

Toshiba Tec’s engineering team handled the countrywide roll out, installing the ST-A10 and all 3rd party peripherals in 60 shops a week.

All installations were completed by 10am in order to minimise store disruption and the Toshiba team remained on site to ensure staff were happy with the new technology.
