Charity staff have the chance to trade places with civil servants as part of a work shadowing scheme rolling out this September.

Charity staff have the chance to trade places with civil servants as part of a work shadowing scheme rolling out this September.

This scheme, which is in its second year, is being run by NCVO and will see charity staff paired with staff from four government departments: Defra, BIS, MoJ and the Cabinet Office.

Last year, 400 people took part in the scheme. Sir Stuart Etherington, chief executive of NCVO, said: ‘’A Day in the Life’ is a fantastic opportunity for charity staff and civil servants to step into each other shoes, share ideas and build lasting partnerships.  It also helps to develop understanding of how civil society and government can support each other and work together more effectively.’
