The Prince’s Countryside Fund, a registered charity established in 2010 by the Prince of Wales to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life, is closing its first round of grant applications at midnight tonight.

In a statement on its website, individual grants of up to £50,000 are available for “innovative projects that will provide a lasting legacy to the individuals and communities they seek to benefit”.

The PCF is looking for applicants able to tackle key issues including “developing thriving rural communities, transforming rural livelihoods and creating the farmers of the future by providing training opportunities”.

This is the first of two tranches of grant funding that the PCF will be making available in 2016.
