Anthony Nolan has doubled the number of regular givers over an 18 month period, its latest set of accounts reveal.

By March 2013, the charity had 30,000 regular givers, which is double the 15,000 it had in September 2011 when it last completed its annual return. Anthony Nolan has changed its year-end so its latest accounts cover an 18-month period.

Anthony Nolan was featured by Fundraising magazine as one of four fast growing fundraising charities. Its fundraising director, Catherine Miles, said that recruiting more regular givers was key to securing predictable income streams.

Its overall income for the 18-month period was £58m (£32m in the previous 12 months) with voluntary income contributing £9.2m. The main reason for the increase in income is an increase in the number of transplants being carried out, for which Anthony Nolan is paid.

Total spending amounted to £55m, leaving the charity with a surplus of £3m, which it will use to grow its stem cell register.
