WWF UK’s director of fundraising Tobin Aldrich is blaming ‘the panda’ for inspiring his upcoming 100-mile fundraising cycle for his charity.
The fundraising veteran turned down a challenge by Open Fundraising to double their gift if he did the challenge in a panda suit. As it is, the RideLondon-Surrey 100 distance will represent by far the most Aldrich has ever pedalled in one go.
More than a month out from the actual event Aldrich has already raised more than double his original fundraising target of £400, which will be directed towards endangered mountain gorillas.
Aldrich said: “This time out our WWF team includes former footballer Graham le Saux. I'm guessing he's going to be a bit quicker than me.”
