Acevo launches application process for new chief executive

17 Aug 2016 News

Acevo has appointed a recruitment agency, Attenti, to help it find its next chief executive and the deadline to submit an application is 25 September.

The chief executives’ umbrella body expects to make an appointment by the end of October, according to the timetable for candidates included in the appointment brief, published on Attenti’s website.

A link to the job description and appointment brief was tweeted by Paul Farmer, chair of Acevo, last week. The new chief executive’s salary will be “commensurate with experience”.

In the introduction to the briefing notes, Farmer said that Acevo is looking for “a superb communicator and a passionate advocate, with significant experience in the voluntary and community sector”.

Sir Stephen Bubb, who had been chief executive of Acevo for 15 years, stood down in May to take up a new role leading the Charity Futures programme within the organisation. Asheem Singh, director of public policy, has been interim chief executive for the past few months.
