What's in July 2020's issue of Governance & Leadership Magazine?

15 Jul 2020 In-depth

The cover theme for the May issue of Governance & Leadership is “building back better”, exploring some new ideas to help charities on their journey to rebuild in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis.

First, we hear from a lawyer about a new model of “public benefit governance”, which employs a representative council of key stakeholders sitting outside of but advising the main trustee board, and we look at a new process for doing strategic planning in a period of great uncertainty. Two of our columnists highlight the importance of looking after ourselves and our colleagues in the next phase of the pandemic, and the Charity Commission offers some more examples of enquiries it is fielding from charities at present.

We also feature a special report examining how three subsectors – domestic abuse, homelessness and criminal justice charities – are faring in the crisis, and to what extent the government’s support packages are helping.
