Dame Esther Rantzen told an audience of fundraisers yesterday that many of their practices were "harassing" and that "it's a shame it took a death" to make the sector realise that it "obviously" needs to change.
"Thank heavens for newspapers and online media such as Civil Society News. who continue to delve and campaign. much to the discomfort and annoyance of organisations such as the Charity Commission - or at least its management. David Robinson's call to rediscover our voice and redefine our sector is timely and most welcome."
