Wildlife Research Manager – The Role
You will provide research expertise and support our global wildlife campaigns. This will involve working closely with the Heads of Research and Animal Welfare to develop and deliver research projects that underpin high profile wildlife campaigns. You will lead on assigned research projects too and provide essential research to achieve a lasting impact for animals.
You will develop effective research-based approaches that will provide the evidence to underpin campaign strategies with high quality information and data. You will conduct desk and field research and your work will inform wildlife campaign strategy, tactics, policies and products/outputs. Whether producing reports, scientific papers, written briefs, data or information for presentations you will play a key role in our success. Important will be the ability to ensure research is delivered on time and within budget.
You will also build relationships and wider networks to support your work, develop tools for campaigns and manage any associated project activity and external engagement.
Wildlife Research Manager – Requirements
- Experienced and highly motivated researcher with a track record of developing and delivering research led approaches to achieve specific outcomes.
- Worked on other primary evidence gathering and data analysis in a scientific and / or academic environment.
- Excellent research, statistical and other analytical skills.
- Competent user of relevant software packages and other data analysis tools.
- Experience in the operational and tactical delivery of (preferably global) research findings to a high standard.
- Strong understanding of outreach, research and information gathering processes and techniques as well as being familiar with the operational and tactical delivery of (preferably global) research findings.
- Good communicator.
- Knowledge of animal welfare or conservation and environmental issues would be an advantage.
