Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust

Two Trustees and Independent Member, JRHT Board

Location: York/London

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRF & JRHT) work together to inspire social change through research, policy and practice.

We want to see a prosperous and poverty free UK where everyone can play their part. We work in partnerships with individuals, communities and a range of organisations to achieve our goals. We use evidence and experience, and we search for the underlying causes of social issues so we can demonstrate practical solutions that bring about lasting change. We use our evidence and our practical experience of developing housing and care services to influence policy, practice and public debate.
We are now looking for two trustees to join the Joint Trustee body at the end of 2017 to play a crucial role in helping to achieve our ambitious aims and be as influential and effective as possible. We are also at the same time looking for an Independent Member for the JRHT Board.

For this recruitment we would particularly welcome applications from individuals with significant experience of housing and development gained in one of the following areas:
•    Social Housing
•    Private sector property development
•    Public sector, government, public policy
•    Commercial experience

JRF and JRHT share the same trustees, staff and directors. We are politically independent, but we are not neutral about poverty. We build on the legacy left by Joseph Rowntree, the successful businessman and social reformer.  We are committed to being a diverse organisation and endeavour to appoint people who enhance this diversity where possible. We welcome applications from across the UK.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 23 May at noon.
