Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. This Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to appoint a Sports & Challenges Fundraiser for a period of up to 12 months to develop and own a portfolio of events from our national programme. Leading on marketing and fundraising activities, supporting event team colleagues and the wider fundraising team to maximise each event.

Your persuasive, teaching style approach to achieving goals by engaging the commitment of others and your team will be recognised in our high-performing organisation. Reporting to the Sports & Challenges Manager, you will take responsibility for recruiting and motivating and building relationships with event and challenge participants.

A self-confident and motivating team builder, you will be proactive in identifying, developing and marketing new and additional fundraising opportunities in the sports and challenge event marketplace. You are an effective verbal communicator who builds rapport and develops relationships with others to stimulate them into action, enabling you to effectively liaise with other fundraising teams to secure participants for various events. Having worked in a charity, successfully managing a variety of sports events, you will have familiarity with event consoles and online fundraising mechanisms and be practiced in maintaining social media to ensure events are current and encourage participants to sign-up.

Your firm, goal-oriented approach focuses you on achieving income targets and monitoring performance to ensure success.  Having previously managed volunteers you understand the importance of providing them with clear guidance and support in advance of, and during, events.

You will use your knowledge of charity law and other compliance requirements to ensure events run effectively and to professional standards – reporting on them monthly. Applications will be particularly welcome from those who have budgeting experience and those who are members of the IoF or EMF. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) and fully competent in the MS Office suite of products (and preferably with experience of using a fundraising database), your persuasive, teaching style of communication will complement your ability to manage multiple and varied projects simultaneously.
