Our weekly summary of the latest movers in the charity sector.

Chief executive

Mark Kingston has been appointed chief executive of independent fostering agency, Community Foster Care and its sister charity, Community Family Care.

Kingston, 45, has spent more than 20 years working in children’s services and was latterly fostering service manager and head of adoption at Action for Children.


Marketing

London’s Air Ambulance charity has appointed Louise Robertshaw as the organisation’s director of marketing and communications.

Robertshaw joins London’s Air Ambulance from Guide Dogs, where she spent nine years as head of communications and campaigns.


HR

Phil Orton has been named executive director of HR for Warrington-based health and social care charity, Making Space.

Orton was previously head of people at specialist nursing and dementia care provider, Belong.

He began his career in social care as a volunteer working with people with learning disabilities, before becoming registered manager of a care home in South Cheshire. He then progressed into training and HR, the field he has worked in for the past 16 years.


Research

Yorkshire Cancer Research has appointed Dr Stuart Griffiths as its director of research and services.

He has taken over the position from Dr Kathryn Scott, who was promoted to chief executive of the charity in June 2017.

Griffiths joins the charity from previous roles as assistant director of research and strategy at Breast Cancer Now and head of strategy and initiatives at the National Cancer Research Institute.
