Charity Commission board member reappointed

The Culture Secretary, Karen Bradley, has reappointed Mike Ashley to the board of the Charity Commission for a further year. 

Ashley joined the board in October 2014 for a three-year term, which has now been extended to 31 October 2018. 

He is also a board member for Barclays, chair of the Government Internal Audit Agency and a member of HM Treasury’s Audit Committee.

He was formerly head of quality and risk management at KPMG Europe, and has more than 20 years’ experience as an audit partner for the likes of HSBC Holdings, Standard Chartered PLC and the Bank of England. 

The Department for Culture Media and Sport is currently recruiting a new chair of the Commission and a new legal board member.
