Sir Bert Massie CBE is chair of the Commission for the Compact. He has worked in the charity sector for 40 years and in 2007 was created a Knight for his services to disabled people.
At present he is a governor of Motability, the leading car scheme for disabled people, and a trustee of Habinteg Housing Association, not to name the number of disability charities of which he is vice president or patron.
Previously he was deputy chair of the National Disability Council, a member of the Disability Rights Task Force, and a trustee of the Institute for Employment Studies. He has also been chief executive of the Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR).
