Simon is director of marketing & communications at the Institute of Fundraising with responsibility for promoting the organisation, its work and reputation.
Formerly head of strategic communications at the Home Office, Simon has more than 20 years of cross-discipline marketing and communications experience leading professional functions for a variety of high-profile national organisations.
Before working in central government Simon was marketing and communications lead for the Royal College of Midwives, head of communications for the National Trust, and head of communications for Westminster City Council.
Beginning his career as a newspaper reporter Simon is a keen advocate of the profession of fundraising and the benefit that fundraisers can deliver to society as a whole.
