Richard Turner was director of fundraising at ActionAid between January 2007 and summer 2011 before being appointed as director of marketing and fundraising for the charity and social enterprise SolarAid.

Richard has been an active fundraiser for 18 years and has a particular passion for development overseas. He spent eight years with Oxfam within the special events, young people’s team, and campaigning unit before joining FARM-Africa as director of fundraising. In 2001 Richard was also recognised as Professional Fundraiser of the Year. He then spent several years with the fundraising agency Cascaid as the new business director before joining ActionAid.
