Nigel Fine

Nigel Fine was appointed chief executive of the Institute of Engineering and Technology in June 2009.

Previously he worked for Experian, where he was managing director for the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. He joined Experian in 1999 as director and chief operating officer in Latin America, and was appointed Global Operating board director in 2003.

Fine spent his early career with John Laing and International Paint, latterly as the European strategy and business development director. He joined Andersen Consulting (Accenture) in 1994 where he was associate partner and managing director for an Andersen Consulting and Thames Water partnership.

He graduated from UMIST in 1978 with a BSc (Hons) in civil engineering. He is a qualified chartered engineer and has an MBA from the London Business School.
