President, Printing Charity from January 2012

Murdoch MacLennan, who is chief executive of the Telegraph Media Group, will be the Printing Charity’s President for 2012.

He has been chief executive of the Telegraph Media Group since 2004.

He was president of the IFRA (the global technical association for newspapers) from 1997 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2007 was chairman of the Newspaper Publishers Association.

In 2008-9 he was a member of the Calman Commission which reported earlier in the summer of 2009 on the future of Scottish devolution.  He was appointed Chairman of the Press Association in 2010.
