Mark Hallam

Mark Hallam joined the RNLI – the Royal National Lifeboat Institution - in November 2005 as the finance and information systems director. He manages nearly 100 staff members who provide financial, accounting, information and communications technology and infrastructure support across the institution.

Hallam has extensive experience in accountancy and finance but also as a seaman. He served in the Royal Navy for nine years as a general list seaman officer, followed by seven further years in the Royal Naval Reserve.

He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1991 and shortly after joined Coopers & Lybrand in Luxembourg for three years before securing a job in its London firm. He later became group audit director of Willis and after three years was promoted to divisional finance director. His most recent job before joining RNLI was as European finance director for HW International.
