Jean Lambert

Jean Lambert is London’s Green Party Member of the European Parliament – a position she has held since 1999. She previously worked as a secondary school teacher in Walthamstow, where she still lives with her husband.

Lambert works on a range of social justice and environmental concerns, to build a more just and sustainable future. She has published reports on social inclusion, workers’ rights, green work, climate change and housing, environment and refugees, work-life balance and energy and waste.

A member of Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, as well as the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, Lambert’s work has focused on gender, age and anti-discrimination issues. She is also chair of the Parliament's South Asia Delegation.

In 2005, Lambert was named the MEP of the year for her work on justice and human rights.
