Gillian Guy

Gillian Guy became chief executive of Citizens Advice, the body that leads, supports and promotes the Citizens Advice Bureau across England and Wales, in July 2010. She is the lead member of the executive management team, who are together responsible for the day-to-day leadership and running of the organisation.

Guy joined from Victim Support, where she was CEO for four years and led a major programme of change and development. She was also instrumental in developing new and improved services for victims.

Previously, Guy trained as a lawyer and spent eleven years as CEO of the London Borough of Ealing. She is also a non-judicial member of the Sentencing Council for England and Wales.

Citizens Advice and Google launch campaign on internet safety

Citizens Advice has partnered with Google to launch a Good To Know campaign to raise awareness of internet safety.

Thirty-seven regulatory and umbrella bodies including the Charity Commission, CFDG, NCVO, Victim Support and Citizens Advice have banded together to devise a new nationwide strategy to tackle fraud.

Santander has donated £100,000 to Citizens Advice to distribute to its bureaux network in England and Wales. It is anticipated that the donation will benefit up to 20 regional bureaux.
