Dheepa Balasundaram

Dheepa Balasundaram joined Shelter in October 2008 as director of finance. Prior to this post she gained wide experience across the non-profit sector, most recently as deputy director of finance for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

She was also finance director for BBC World Service Trust and International Family Health. She has held international posts, working for the British Red Cross in Ethiopia, as regional finance controller for Goal in the Balkans and with ActionAid in Mozambique.

Balasundaram has also held a number of voluntary positions including treasurer for Bail for Immigration Detainees and as a small business adviser for the Prince’s Youth Business Trust.

She is also a treasurer at Breast Cancer Care.
