David King

David King has held many senior roles within the charity sector. From March 2004 - March 2007 he was chief executive of the Samaritans, a position which followed roles as secretary and director of management services at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and honorary treasurer of NCVO.

He is a former chair of both the Charity Finance Directors' Group and the Charities Consortium.

He joined ICRF in 1996 after seven years as director of finance and administration at the NSPCC. Prior to that he held several positions in the Granada Group, most recently as finance director of a retail subsidiary.

He is trustee of the Heritage Foundation, raising funds through arts, sports and entertainment for various causes.
