Colin Barrow

Colin Barrow CBE has been chair of the National Autistic Society since 2005.

After reading law at Clare College, Cambridge, and spells in the City and construction, he joined E.D. & F Man in 1983 where he was managing director of the investment management business over a twelve year period. In July 2005 he became chairman of hedge fund management company, Alpha Strategic PLC.

Having previously been a councillor in Suffolk, he was elected to Westminster City Council in May 2002 where he is currently leader. He is also a member of the London Councils’ Leaders and Executive Committees. In 2004 he was appointed CBE for services to local government. 

He was a co-founder of Policy Exchange and also Localis, both right-of-centre think tanks.
