Catherine A’Bear is the chief corporate affairs officer at the Shaw Trust, the UK’s biggest voluntary sector provider of employment-related services to disabled and disadvantaged people.
She joined the Shaw Trust in 1989 and has had a lot of different jobs within the charity. Her current role gives her responsibility for business strategy, business development, communications and IT.
Catherine spent the first seven years of her career working within what was then the Department of Social Security (now the Department of Work and Pensions), after graduating from Liverpool University with a history degree.
Since March 2006 she has been a non-executive director of the Ridgeway Partnership (Oxfordshire Learning Disability NHS Trust).
She is also a Fellow of the RSA.
