Ava Easton

Ava Easton became chief executive of the Encephalitis Society on 1 January 2011. Prior to this Ava spent ten years as the Society’s development manager, developing and managing the support, education and research services for the Society.

Ava has an honours degree in social sciences/social psychology, and is currently completing her doctorate with the Department of Health Sciences, University of York, in the UK.

Ava has produced and published several papers on various aspects of Encephalitis and its after-effects; she also speaks at conferences and provides training on acquired brain injury, and encephalitis and its consequences, for health, education and social care professionals, both nationally and internationally. 

Ava is vice-chair of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum and an associate Health Sciences Researcher with the University of York.
