Andrew Nebel

Andrew Nebel

Andrew Nebel is a fundraising and communications consultant who is best-known for the highly controversial ad campaigns he launched while director of marketing and communications at Barnardo's.

Nebel spent 12 years in that role at the children's charity before becoming commercial director in 2007.  He left in 2009 to go into consultancy.

Under his watch Barnardo's launched such provocative campaigns such as the 'heroin baby' and 'cockroach baby' posters that generated sometimes hundreds of complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority - and acres of press coverage.

Prior to joining Barnardo's Nebel had a successful marketing career in the private sector, on products as diverse as marmalade and travel services, insurance and vehicle rescue.
