Akwasi Aidoo is the chair of the Resource Alliance (RA). He is the first African to be elected into the role and is the founding executive director of TrustAfrica, which aims to secure democratic governance in the continent.
Educated in Ghana and the US, Akwasi has previously had several responsible positions including regional program officer for West and Central Africa and head of the Ford Foundation’s offices in Senegal and Nigeria. He has also been on the boards of several non-profit organizations as a director. These include: The Fund for Global Human Rights, the International Beliefs and Values Institute and the International Committee of the Council on Foundations. Akwasi additionally served as a trustee of Oxfam America.
