The Scottish charity regulator OSCR has made a number of changes to its website, including making is digital charity register search function more prominent.

In a statement made on its website on Tuesday, OSCR said that many users of its website said they “weren’t able to see that they could search the Scottish Charity Register from our homepage because it was too far down”.

The digital search function for the charity register has now been placed “right at the top so you don’t miss it”.

Registered charities entries have also been improved, and will now contain “information of incorporation going forward” so users can see if a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) used to be another organisation.

OSCR has also created a “dedicated news section” on its homepage, and changed its news page to “contain more stories in a cleaner, simpler format”.

The Scottish charity regulator also announced it has “recently created a Facebook page and a YouTube library” and linked its social media accounts on its new homepage.

A spokesman from OSCR said that the changes were made in response to submissions from users via its website feedback form, as well as "ad hoc feedback from stakeholder interactions".
