The government has launched a £1m fund to help charity leaders improve their digital skills.
It will provide free training to enable charities to make better use of technology in delivering their objectives.
The announcement of the Digital Leadership Fund follows a commitment in the Civil Society Strategy to do more to support charities to engage with digital.
Jeremy Wright, secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport, said: “We want charitable organisations to thrive in the digital age and are committed to helping them get the most out of technology, which can act as an enormous force for good.
“Through this programme, charity leaders will have more opportunities to enhance skills and boost employee confidence while creating a greater and more positive impact on people and their communities.”
The fund is open to applications from organisations in England that already deliver training to improve charities’ digital skills.
Organisations can apply for a grant of between £10,000 and £170,000 to support expansion or improvements of existing offers or to widen access to training by subsidising the costs.
Applications close on Friday 7 December and successful bidders will find out if they have been awarded money by the end of the year.
