Chief executive, Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund from 2005

In June 2012 Astrid was also appointed chief executive of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust. She was the chief executive of the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund from 2005 until it closed in 2012.

In December 2012 also joined the board of the Big Lottery Fund. 

She was director of Zimbabwean non-governmental organisation Inter-County Peoples’ Aid between 1997 and 2001 before becoming a proframme development specialist at a Netherland’s. She joined the Aga Khan Foundation in the UK in as director of policy in 2003.

She has Phd in social anthropology from the University of Manchester.
