JustGiving offers Apple Pay for UK charities

21 Nov 2017 News

Online fundraising platform JustGiving has today announced that UK charities will be able to take donations using Apple Pay on its site.

At the moment over 1,100 charities are registered with Apple Pay, and will be notified that they can also accept Apple Pay donations from people donating on JustGiving.

Apple Pay assigns each user a unique ID so credit card numbers are not stored on devices. People can authenticate donations using fingerprint recognition or facial recognition, as long as their devices support these features.

Apple Pay became available for UK charities in March this year, with Comic Relief, Cancer Research UK and Oxfam among the early adopters.

In September the microdonation platform, Pennies, incorporated Apple Pay into its offer.
