Plan International has appointed Siemens IT Solutions to implement a new global management system to improve accountability.
Siemens won the five-year contract to supply and support SAP software which will replace the charity’s three existing management systems with one tool.
The charity is one of the first in the sector to use the SAP software and expects the finance, projects and fund management system to drive cost efficiencies, improve organisational planning and enable real-time financial reporting in the 66 countries where Plan International is active.
The system will also link up donations from individuals, corporations and governments with the positive impact those contributions have had on communities.
Mark Banbury, acting chief operating officer, said: “By introducing a focused approach to our business applications we can be certain that the investment in our SAP system gains maximum returns.”
He added: “Being accountable to our donors, our communities and the children who benefit from Plan’s work is key to being trusted as a leading not-for-profit organisation and for managing investments in our programme.”
