The Children’s Trust broadcast live web interviews with its fundraising runners competing in April's London Marathon using ipadio, a new live ‘phonecasting’ tool which allows people to stream content live onto the internet from their mobile phone, anywhere in the world.
Armed with a mobile, the Children’s Trust fundraising director, Liz Haigh-Reeve, interviewed scores of runners at the Marathon. “In ipadio I may have just found a really quick and easy tool to add to my fundraising armoury,” said Haigh-Reeve. “It’s a tool that any fundraiser, professional or enthusiast, can use without special training, and being able to add a human voice to our stories makes this even more compelling.”
Broadcasts are automatically recorded for playback later. The venue of the recording can then be located on a Google map, tagged, placed on another site, or downloaded to keep and share.
