Heart Foundation seeks step-change with CRM upgrade

IT | Tania Mason | 1 Jun 2009

The British Heart Foundation is to upgrade its CRM system from Raiser’s Edge, which it has used for the last ten years, to the next-generation Blackbaud Enterprise CRM.

It is also buying two additional modules: Blackbaud Direct Marketing, which will centralise and automate all direct marketing activity through different departments, and Blackbaud NetCommunity, a social networking module that will allow the charity to provide advice on interactive forums.

The Enterprise system will allow supporters to update their own details and provide the Foundation with the ability to communicate wit them in a much more personalised way.

Project director Frank Garofalo said the impact of the project on the charity’s relationships with its donors would be "massive". "It will be a step change in terms of the service we can offer supporters."

The project will take at least two years to complete, but testing on one or two customer segments should begin early next year.  Garofalo declined to say how much the charity was spending on the project.
