Scope takes its expenses management online 1

Finance | Stefan Marseglia | 12 Feb 2010

Scope has chosen an automated online system from GlobalExpense to manage its employee expenses.

A company which specialises in accounting and tax, GlobalExpense allows the charity’s staff members to log onto its website to complete the two-stage claim.

Based on authorisation and validation, the online claims made by employees are first checked by managers for approval, before the receipts are sent by post to be validated by GlobalExpense.

With the previous system having required staff to fill in two forms with receipts attached, send them to their line manager, then sign and send them onto payroll to be processed, employees are said to favour the new system.

Geetha Rabindrakumar, director of finance at Scope, said: “Staff have found it to be very user-friendly and like the fact that their claims are processed quickly and reliably.”

According to Scope, the new automated system has allowed staff to work on more ‘value-added tasks’, such as analysing expense spend, at the same time as allowing the organisation to follow protocol more closely.
