Lasa has launched an online report exploring the potential of technologies for the sector and urged others to share their thoughts.
Titled Digital: What Every Charity Leader Should Know, the report asked 31 relevant parties to summarise their top five digital insights using one digital presentation slide. The report includes contributions from Martha Lane Fox (chair, Go On UK and the UK's digital champion), Nigel Lewis (CEO, AbilityNet), and Karl Wilding (head of foresight, NCVO).
Recurring themes are the need to exploit digital for fundraising, collaboration and engagement.
The 31 contributions are split into seven categories – leadership goes digital, organisational strategy and digital, innovate and engage, digital and the bottom line, leadership and social media, open data and the cloud, and mobile.
Terry Stokes, chief executive of Lasa said: “This report brings together insights from some of the sector’s most influential thinkers into how digital can help charity leaders not only weather these exceptionally tough times but seize new opportunities to raise funds, engage stakeholders and collaborate.”
Lasa is now asking the sector to share their thoughts on the report by tweeting @Lasaict and using the hashtag #LasaLeaders. It will host an event with Bates Wells and Braithewaite on 6 November to debate the issues.
