TACT UK is set to ditch Sage Payroll and implement a new integrated human resource and payroll software system in a bid to tackle its absenteeism problem.
OpenPeople from COA Solutions will launch towards the end of the year to improve management efficiencies for the charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities.
The new system will significantly reduce manual data entry by HR staff and allow fast access to information stored electronically on desktops for senior management to monitor absenteeism.
Finance director of TACT UK, Shelia McKenzie refused to give details of TACT UK’s staff absence rates but admitted it was higher than the national average.
She said: "Absenteeism is a key issue for organisations like TACT and OpenPeople will help us to manage staff absenteeism on a national level. We expect the system to deliver significant time-savings as we will no longer have to request details on staff turnover from each separate office."
McKenzie added: "We had outgrown our previous basic payroll system and so needed a flexible and reliable solution that could easily cope with our complicated payroll. The OpenPeople system will streamline our processes, reduce the amount of paper circulating the organisation and reduce errors."
The new combined HR and payroll solution is licensed for up to 1,500 members of staff.
