Amnesty International UK will launch an online TV show this Friday which will show a mix of news, short documentaries, satirical comedy and campaign stunts to engage a younger generation of supporters.
The 15 minute magazine show will be posted online at www.amnestytv.co.uk and on the programme’s YouTube channel every other Friday.
Confirmed features for the first show include a message from Aung San Suu Kyi, general secretary of the National League for Democracy, marking Amnesty's 50th anniversary, and an item from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales on internet freedom.
Amnesty has assembled an in-house team of producers to develop most of the upcoming content but shows will also include items from the charity's supporters in the creative industry.
The YouTube page has so far attracted more than 2,600 subscribers. Facebook fans of the charity have been promised exclusive preview clips of the show before it launches.
