No urge to merge: Why are there so few charity sector mergers?

January's Governance & Leadership magazine looks at mergers, and asks why so few are taking place in the charity sector. Articles include those that look at when charities should merge, ideas for how to make mergers easier in the sector, and case studies on succesful mergers - including those undertaken to form Breast Cancer Now, and the merged Peabody and Family Mosaic.

It also includes an interview with the Charity Commission's new chief executive Helen Stephenson, who says she wants to revive the regulator's advice and support role, but that there needs to be a way to pay for it.

Other articles include predictions on charity failings in 2018, and on the need for more diversity in the sector.
