The Clore Social Leadership Programme, a new initiative to identify and develop emerging talent in the third sector, is now open to applications for its first group of fellowships.
Dame Mary Marsh, founding director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme said the programme will address the lack of commitment to leadership development in civil society compared with the private and public sector.
The programme is looking for any UK resident who has substantial work or volunteering experience within the third sector. The fellowships will last for one to two years depending on the candidate and includes residential courses, individual tuition and mentoring and research. Each course will be designed to meet the leadership needs of the candidate.
A bursary of up to £20,000 will be available to support fellows or the organisation who currently employs them.
“Exposing people to unfamiliar contexts, connecting them to leaders with a wide variety of experience, as well as opportunities for those on the programme to share what they have learned with one another will be central to the fellowship,” said Marsh.
The Clore Duffield Foundation will contribute £1.5m to the new programme over its first three years.
The closing date for applications is 30th June and interviews will be held between 7 September and 2 October.
