The Kew Foundation has welcomed James Murdoch, son of billionaire media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, and his wife Kathryn Murdoch to its board of trustees.
Murdoch, who is currently the chairman of News Corporation Europe and Asia, and his spouse Kathryn Murdoch, who is head of strategy and communications at the Clinton Climate Initiative, will share their trustee responsibilities.
Marcus Agius, chairman of the Kew Foundation and also chair of Barclays Bank, said: “It is great news for the Kew Foundation that James and Kathryn Murdoch have together agreed to join the board of trustees. They are both passionate environmentalists and have a strong record of supporting the green agenda.”
The appointment will run until 30 April 2012.
