Kevin Curley among new CFG trustees

CFG today announced the appointment of three new trustees: former CEO of Navca Kevin Curley; Nicki Deeson, head of finance at the Alzheimer’s Society and Uday Thakkar, managing director at Red Ochre.

While Deeson and Thakkar replace Rohan Hewavisenti and Phil Brown from the British Red Cross and the King’s Fund respectively, who are stepping down at the end of their six-year terms, Curley has been appointed to the CFG board as a non-member trustee.

He commented: "I'm excited to be joining CFG as a trustee and continuing my active engagement with the sector I’m passionate about. Strong financial skills and acumen are vitally important to so many charities large and small and I hope that in taking up this role I’ll be able to contribute to improving the sector's capacity in this area."

Curley currently chairs two charities, Sengwer Aid and the Pickering Family Centre. Earlier this year, he joined the NCVO’s advisory council, and received a CBE for services to the voluntary and community sector in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Also on CFG's board Sally O’Neill and Mark Hilton were each re-elected for a second three-year term.

Ian Theodoreson, CFG chair, announced the appointments and said: “I’m delighted to welcome the new trustees to the board and have no doubt that their considerable skill and experience of the sector will bring tremendous value to CFG.”

CFG's full list of trustees is now: Ian Theodoreson (chair), Kevin Barnes, Diane Bassett, Rosie Chapman, Sally O’Neill, Gill Gibb, Mark Hilton, Kevin Curley, Nicki Deeson and Uday Thakkar.
